Sell-Outs: Gun Rights group endorses Manchin – Toomey

It was bound to happen. Someone was going to have to fold. That “someone”, who just achieved this (dis)honor,  is the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and wouldn’t you know it, NBC (the National Bureaucracy of Communists) are the first to break the story:

“A gun-rights group on Sunday endorsed a bipartisan compromise in the Senate to expand background checks — splitting from the National Rifle Association.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms had opposed previous iterations of a Democratic proposal for universal background checks.

This group has far fewer members than the NRA — over 600,000 as compared to the NRA’s nearly 5 million. But the  shift still represents a divide in the usually united gun lobby, and lends further momentum to an expanded background check measure negotiated by Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa.

In announcing support, the group pointed to sections of the compromise that lift some restrictions on guns that are already in place.

“You can see all the advances for our cause that it contains like interstate sales of handguns,” chairman Alan Gottlieb said.

“It’s huge,” Manchin told Fox News on Sunday afternoon as he announced the CCRKBA endorsement.”

Yeah it’s huge.  The Marble Hill Constitution-News challenges all current members of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to quit. Leave them high and dry, DO NOT fund them anymore. They have sold you out.

Instead we encourage you to join the National Association of Gun Rights, who instead of selling-out have been “up on the hill” giving the weak spined politicians the hard-ball treatment they deserve.

Recently Politico reported that:

“There’s a new generation of gun rights groups causing havoc in Republican  offices on Capitol Hill.

They’re going after anyone — even members with pristine ratings from the  National Rifle Association — in a no-holds-barred attempt to make Republicans stop from even thinking about any potential compromises with  Democrats on gun control or background check measures.

Several Senate GOP staffers have complained to POLITICO about the National  Association for Gun Rights in particular, saying its hardball tactics have made  life difficult for their offices with its email and phone campaign Along with the Gun Owners of America, the NAGR, its state affiliates and  smaller grass-roots groups are using the playbook of the Club for Growth and tea  party outlets — conservative organizations that have forced GOP lawmakers to the  right on fiscal issues and punished moderates with primary campaigns.”

Again, if you are a member of the CCRKBA, quit them now and give your money to a group that will DEFEND your rights, not ABANDON them.- Editor
