We call it “Sody” in the Ozarks…

everyone-knows-that-the-midwest-calls-it-pop-the-northeast-and-west-coast-call-it-soda-while-the-south-is-really-into-brand-loyaltyBusiness Insider.Com has published an article entitled “22 Maps That Show that Show how Americans Speak English Totally Differently from Each Other”

One of the maps asks “What is your generic term for a sweetened carbonated beverage?”

The study shows that in the Midwest it is called pop while in the Northeast and West Coasts it is called soda.

I have it on good authority that here in the Ozarks it is called “Sody” (pronounced sod-ee)
