Are the Articles the Answer to America’s Problems?

Guest Editorial:

DID YOU KNOW… the Constitutional Convention of 1787 was SUPPOSED to just tweak the Articles of Confederation — but the convention got HIJACKED by constitutionalists who wanted a monarchy-like government, but without a king? That the result was a stronger central government, which has been expanding itself steadily ever since, and took a huge leap to largeness under Abraham Lincoln? That the original constitution had no bill of rights — no protections for ordinary citizens — and they were tacked on as an afterthought, thanks mostly to the anti-federalists (who were really the folks who wanted a federalized system of states that shared/delegated power with a central government) and not the federalists (who didn’t really want a federalized system, but wanted to weaken the states and make them subordinate to the central government)?

Would we have the extremely problematic national government that we do now if the Articles of Confederation had remained our governing document?
